KARPUS

A personal film that explores the underrepresentation of Sephardic heritage in America and how this group has largely been absorbed into Ashkenazi culture. Using a poetic approach, the film will interrogate and explore my own upbringing within a mixed Ashkenazi and Sephardic family. Through home videos, archival material, and personal narratives, KARPUS will seek to uncover and elevate the American Sephardic experience.

KARPUS is supported by a grant from the Combined Jewish Philanthropies Arts & Culture Community Impact Grant Fund.
